How to Play Skyscrapers: Rules, Strategy & Free Puzzles
Skyscrapers is a Latin-square puzzle where every cell holds a building of height 1 to N, with no repeats in any row or column. The numbers around the edge tell you how many buildings are visible from that direction — a taller building always hides every shorter one behind it.

How to play Skyscrapers
- Heights 1 to N. Fill each row and column with the heights 1 to N, each used exactly once.
- Count what you see. An edge clue is how many buildings are visible looking in from that side.
- Taller hides shorter. A building is visible only if every building in front of it is shorter.
- Satisfy every clue. The finished grid must match all the edge numbers at once.
Skyscrapers strategy & tips
- A clue of 1 means the tallest building (N) sits right against that edge.
- A clue of N means the row rises in perfect order 1, 2, 3 … N from that edge.
- Large clues force small buildings up front; small clues force a tall building near the edge.

Skyscrapers FAQ
What do the numbers around the grid mean?
Each edge number is the count of buildings you can see from that side, remembering that taller buildings block the view of shorter ones behind them.
Is Skyscrapers like Sudoku?
It shares the Latin-square rule — no repeats in a row or column — but replaces boxes with the visibility clues around the border.
